Dates to Remember

Friday, May 23 - STEM afternoon for K, 1, 2

Hands on learning utilizing some fun STEM activities will be enjoyed by our K, 1, 2 students. 

Thursday, May 29 - K,1,2 field trip to Rainbow Park

(Letter of explanation is in today's take-home folder.  Be sure to get the green permission form signed and returned ASAP.)

Remember to wear our 1st grade class shirts!!

Last Days of School

The final days of the 2024-2025 school year are here!  There are a few items you need to be aware of concerning those days:

• On Thursday, May 29, I will send home the take-home folder for the final time.  You may keep it and not return it.  

• On Thursday, May 29, the first graders will “pack up” their desk belongings.  Please be sure to send a cleaned out backpack to carry all their “stuff”.

• On Friday, May 30, field day activities (coordinated by the 7th/8th grade students and teachers) will begin at approximately 9 a.m. and will be held at our school.  Your child should wear tennis shoes for these activities.

• At 11 a.m., the PTO will host a Hamburger lunch for all the students to celebrate the end of the school year.

• School dismisses 3 hours early (12:10 p.m.) on Friday, May 30  for summer vacation!!

Mass this past Wednesday

I am so proud of the first graders and the terrific job they did at mass on Wednesday.  Your support at home really showed.  Such great kids!!  And super readers!  Thank you!

Spring Concert

Also in today's take-home folder is a letter about the Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 21st.  It looks like the first graders need to be in their assigned places at 5:40 pm. in "mass day clothing".  The performance will begin at 6 pm..  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Warner or myself.

Iowa State Savings Bank

Our thanks to the Iowa State Savings Bank (ISSB) for giving each first grader a new book on Thursday, May 15th.

 1st Grade Mass

In today's take-home folder are the plans for mass on Wednesday, May 14th. Please look for your child's part and help them practice!!  As always, you are more than welcome to attend mass which begins at 9:15 a.m. in the gym.

Library

All library books must be returned Tuesday, May 20th.  No more books will be checked out after that date for this school year.

Glowathon info.

Glow-a-thon

When I turned the calendar, it's Glow-a-thon time!!!  Thursday, May 8th is the annual PTO Glow-a-thon.  This is a big fundraiser for the PTO.  Also, it is a lot of fun for all and a very healthy way to spend some time in our school day.  There are a few things you need to be aware of:

• Yes, your child may wear sweatpants/windpants to school on this day.  Also, please make sure your child has appropriate shoes (lace-up/Velcro tennis shoes).
• Our scheduled lap time is from 12:50-1:20 p.m. (our PE time).  
• Please volunteer to help (need to be here about 12:30 p.m.).  Come out and join the fun or help the PTO with lap counting.
