Valentine exchange

Grandparent/Special Guest Mass

Catholic School’s Week is fast approaching.  One of the special days during that week is Grandparent/Special guest day.  It is currently scheduled for Friday, February 2 and will be at Holy Spirit Church.  Help your child invite an adult to join them at mass. It really is meaningful for all if your child has a special guest on that day.  And yes, we are expecting the grandparent/special guest to pick up your child from school for the mass and take the child home after the mass.  I sent a note last week about this special with a place for you to let me know who will be coming for your child.  I would like those returned by Monday, January 22, to insure that someone will be attending the mass and taking your child home.

Valentine Exchange

I sent a note about your child making a Valentine container at school.  Please remember to send a clean, dry 1 gallon plastic milk jug by Wednesday, January 31.  (If you can send more than 1, that would be great!)

On Friday, February 9, the first graders will exchange Valentines. I encourage the students to write their own Valentine messages. I have sent a list of the first graders in today's take-home folder.

Your child may begin bringing their Valentines to school on Tuesday, February 6, and no later than Friday, February 9.  A small candy treat may be included. Any questions, please contact me (Mrs. Levine).

Sorry, not a lot to inform or report because of the "Snow Days"!  Hopefully, everything will get back to "normal" next week.

First Grade Mass

Our first grade mass was cancelled because of the snow day.  I know the first graders were disappointed, but there are more opportunities the rest of the school year (We will plan and participate.).  Thank you for the support you gave to prepare for this mass.  I will need that support again in the future.

Guidance explanation

Happy New Year
I hope everyone had a relaxing, fun break!  Please note:  The first graders are planning and fully participating in next week's liturgy.  Please look for your child's part in today's take-home folder.

Guidance
Mrs. Meisenheimer  will start the guidance lessons next week.  Ask your child what lessons they have covered in class.  Discussions will be centered around the gifts that God gives us:   gifts of family, self, life, love, and community.  Be supportive of the learning in guidance.  It sounds like an excellent way to learn how to get along with others in a healthy, holy, and respectful way.
